Sheila Newton lives in the North East of England with her husband and two cats. She acquired an RGN and a degree in Education throughout her nursing and teaching careers. Since 2010, when she caught the ‘creative writing bug’, she has been published with the small press magazine, Debut, quarterly magazine, 'This England' and has won two ‘honourable mention’ prizes with Writers’ Weekly’s 24 hour writing competition.  She won first prize in an ‘about writing’ competition for Fan Story and has had three of her articles posted with the award-winning Flash Fiction Chronicles.  Around 30 of her articles and short stories have been published online, including Every Day Fiction.  An avid reader, traveller, walker, blogger and blues addict, Sheila blogs for North East Life online and has been commissioned to write travel articles for hoteliers in UK and Europe: she also blogs for a local blues/rock band.
