The End of Our Rainbow

Our Rainbow of Life and Love

Our Rainbow of Life and Love
Our Rainbow of Life and Love

A Poem of Life and Love

In response to PHILLY DREAMER's Poetry Challenge, 'Love is not a Cliche', here on Hub Pages:

http://phillydreamer.hubpages.com/hub/A-Taste-Of-Passion

I wrote a love poem, entitled 'The End of Our Rainbow'

The End of Our Rainbow

Our first kiss was bliss

Pure and simple

Gliding on air, touching white puff-balls of cotton-candy

Running toward silken streamers of a waiting rainbow

Where glittering prisms of glorious colour shone

Like diamonds

*

Forever together

Hand in hand

We lazed on pink-tipped clouds under skies of azure

Counting the brilliant hues of our rainbow’s sparkling arch

Laughing out loud, embracing life’s rich tapestry

In harmony

*

Too soon came the moon

Piece by piece

As greying wisps of mist dispersed into twinkling silver night

Down slippery slopes of light and shade, gnarled jewelled fingers entwined

Angels sang softly until, reaching our rainbow’s dazzling end, we found

Our pot of gold

Very nice! I was glad to see the pot of gold at the end. I feared it was headed in a bad direction for the couple.

Aww you are such a romantic. You make it sound so hard, and you never cease to amaze.

Just depends on which way you look at it. The pot of gold might be 'heaven' or 'death' - or it might be they've settled into old age together! Hmmm...

The images you evoke in this poem is very beautiful. I see the unbridled passions of lovers, hear their pounding heart, and feel their love that knows no bound.

I been messing with your rainbow and now your hubs.

Hand in hand

They kissed each other

Withdrew their words

Then ducked for cover

Lost in the treasure

of warm membrace

but victims of a wicked embrace

Wrong word right space.

Anyway it rained all day and we get warmth from our mother as children, underneath daddy's raincoat ,safe and protected from the rain, I couldn't see a thing, only the glistering of wet tarmac, squally showers again.

Hightown Park shelter, we really enjoyed the rain, as the sun burst though the tree tops, on the sign for lovers lane, down the love tunnel was just the same, safe and protected, squally showers of rain, with a comfortable feeling, void of the pain, in a warm embrace, just lost without trace, in a weird and decadent space, we still get together, a change of pace in a nice happy place.

I had another play with your rainbow, please do a search for it on Hubpages.
